As summer begins to wind down (I know, I don't want to talk about it either) it's time to make the most of the days we have left. Let's start by hitting the road...
TRIPS: I don't know about you but I love a road trip. Doesn't even matter where I'm headed, just put me out on the open road with great music, snacks, and a friend or two and I'll have a blast getting there. I suggest starting right here in Nova Scotia, there is so much to see and do! One of my favourite recent road trips was to Parrsboro, NS, where I visited the Ships Company Theatre for a great night of live music. One of my favourite bloggers, at Short Presents, shares her tips for a fabulous road trip here, and while you're on her site check out her thoughts on fashion, food and all things fun! She suggests wearing comfy clothes in the car, which the Yoga Jeans we carry in the store would be perfect for. Also, she mentions the importance of sun care while on your journey, so check out the local products at Fiore Botanica in Lunenburg.
FOOD: Like many folks one of the highlights of summer for my family is eating fresh food from our garden. My mom recently gave me a huge bag of green beans and peas in the pod. The first thought that came to mind was how delicious they would be in a batch of homemade Nova Scotia Hodge Podge. Yum!
STATIONARY: When I was a kid the end of summer always meant back-to-school shopping, which I admit that I totally loved. Clean, new notebooks and shiny, new pens signified a fresh start and made me feel like I was about to embark on the best year yet. Though my school years are finished now, and work goes all year round (why is that??) there is still something satisfying about new stationary and supplies for my desk. I am truly obsessed with everything from Kate Spade. I just feel like I can do better work with beautiful pens!
